Five on Friday/Random 5/Show Us Your Life/Let's Be Friends Blog Hops

Happy Friday!!!  Yes, I am doing FOUR Blog hops today!!! I wasn't going to do the LBF one, but then I thought, "why not? It is only an extra link I have to post". I also decided to participate in SUYL this week as well.

So, let's get started!

1. I mentioned this yesterday, but I am grasping at straws for FoF this week, so I may be repeating myself a few times. My mom has written a book!! I am so excited to say that it's on Amazon! Since is a PG - Type title, I am going to include the link only. Go and take a look!!

2. I got (FINALLY!)  the third season of Downton Abbey. I haven't even begun to watch it yet. Hopefully, I will start on it in this wknd.

3. Speaking of this weekend, we are going to be SUPER BUSY tomorrow; or at least later tomorrow afternoon/evening. Our church is having our 2nd Annual (at least in name) Fall Family Fai. Last years was so much fun, and a ton of people came! It's a lot of work, but it is worth it. I will probably go sometime during the day to help set up, and then help manage the booths. Then half way through the evening, I have to run to check out Mom's Book Launch/Party. Should be a fun and crazy night!

4. We have no money. True Story. My younger brother and SIL were in town, and they bought me a PSL at Starbucks. SO good!! Oh, and we had a nice chat, too:) Then I stayed on after they left to read magazines from the library.

5.  I love fall. Most of this week we have been engulfed by fog. While I hate driving in it, I LOVE looking at it:) Here are a couple of pictures I took yesterday on my phone.

I love it!!! These pictures don't do it justice.

5.1. Again, I know I already said this in my WS link up post, but I went with my friend to see her mom and dad about a half hour away. The drive there and back was simply amazing!

Linking up with Nancy at A Rural Journal for this weeks Random 5 Friday.

1. A couple of opportunities have presented themselves to me (us) this week (well, actually yesterday). We are both excited about them. More to (maybe) come in another post.

2. I need to get some new underwear. I actually had none yesterday when I went to get dressed. I had to do a load of laundry yesterday morning, so that I had a pair to wear today. True Story.

3. We have no money until we get paid next Thursday. Another True Story. Not sure how that will work. I also won't be able to buy any magazines this week. I know. Sob Story.

4. The heat at work has gone. So, I was very cold yesterday. At least the fireplace works.

5. Anker has been dehydrating fruits the last week. Apples, grapes, plums. Yum!

5.1. I now have 21 Followers on my blog. So does my blogging friend Sky-Ann.

Linking up with Kelly this week for SUYL!

I haven't been participating lately in this link up, because simply put, I haven' been experience (or have experienced) (for lack of a better word), the subjects that she has been highlighting, which is totally ok! This week, however, I think I can participate, since I AM married! I have posted several times on the blog about our love story. If you spent a few hours minutes scrolling through the blog, you will surely come across it. But to sum it up, we met online, we met fast, we married fast. Yah, because we are fast like that:)

There are a few pieces of advice that I can give, especially to ones just starting out;

1. Marriage is NOT going to be perfect. It isn't going to look the same as your siblings, your parents, your next door neighbour (obviously, no hitting, or abuse or neglect  should EVER be involved! THAT IS NOT OKAY!). What works for them may not work for you, and vice versa. You are going to go through hard times. That is inevitable. It isn't going to look like your favourite actors/resses, or characters on your favourites shows. Unless you are wealthy, you won't be able to afford a nanny, a gardener, a chauffer, etc. You have to do most of it yourself. And it is hard! We live paycheque to paycheque. I have good friends who are MUCH more well off than we will ever be. And you know what? That's ok. That's just life. Of course, strive for more, but on the whole, embrace what you have (ok, I hate living PC to PC, and we are hoping that it will change soon, but I think you get what I am getting at).

2. Communicate, Communicate, Communicate! I cannot say enough about this. Spend time with each other. A LOT. William Harley in his book, His Needs, Her Needs recommends that a couple spends 15 hours a week ALONE with no interruptions. That means, no TV, no other couples, family, kids, etc. People say "we can't spend that much time together, we don't have the time". Quickly think of how much time you spend watching TV or being on the Net, or having girls night out? Maybe 15 hours IS too much time. For you. Maybe you can't physically make it happen. What about 8 hours a week? Heck, even 4! That is an hour after your kids (if you have any) 4 nights a week after you kids are in bed. So, I guess what I am trying to say at least try to spend time with your partner at least once a week talking. Hubby and I try, but we don't always succeed. A lot of times "date night" consists of MY making a dinner (or us getting taking out) and watching a movie. It isn't the best quality time, but at least we are together, and we will often spend time talking after the movie. The last few wks we haven't had a date night. We have spent time talking and being together (road trips, etc), so that is good, but we haven't spent a TON of time talking. This wknd isn't going to be much better, as either one or both of us are going to be busy for most of the day tomorrow, and into the evening; but we do what we can.

3. Marry someone who has at least some money! Trust me, it isn't everything, but it sure does help!!

That is my little piece of marriage advice:)

Five on Friday/Random 5/Let's Be Friends Blog Ups

                                                                      Happy Friday!!!

I hope everyone had a great week. Ours was ok. Nothing too exciting, but it wasn't bad, either, which is a good thing!!! I think I have Saturday off again, as we are going to a funeral tomorrow:( Our Pastor to Seniors died a couple of weeks ago, and the funeral is tomorrow.

Here are the 5 things I am loving this week (I have to actually come up with a few; can't seem to think of them off the bat today for some reason).

1.  I got two new bubble baths from Avon this week. Warm Vanilla and Fig, and Vanilla Peppermint Swirl. Love them both!
I also like the Soft Pink, too:)

2. As much as I like going barefoot in my sandals in the summer, I LOVE buying and wearing fun socks!!!  I bought two new pairs of Halloween socks, and sadly, I have already lost one of one pair, and the other pair were too small. I have been buying socks coordinating with the upcoming holidays...fun! So, that is my new thing; fun socks!

3. I KILLED it on Monday; organizing and cooking my first Thanksgiving Dinner. Other than the turkey being a bit over cooked, it all turned out well, and all the food tasted awesome.

4. I have loved this for awhile now, but I keep forgetting to write about it; I love the International Delight line of their flavoured creamers. French Vanilla and Irish Cream; Yum!

5. Autumn Colours. The leaves are falling off the trees in the valley....so beautiful:)
...oh and of course, the puppies!!!

1. I have started playing CCS, and FHS again. Darn those games!
2. I ate fresh apples, and fresh plums off of Mom's trees last wknd. SO DELSIH!!
3. I am watching the third season of Hot in Cleveland. It is a fun show!
4A.I am still waiting for the third season of Downton Abbey to be com available from our library.
4B. I am thinking of starting Upstairs Downstairs. It seems very similar to DA. Has anyone watched it? Is it good?
5. Hubby's bday was on Tuesday. We had a quiet night at home, complete with TV and a cake:)

Five on Friday, Random 5, and Let's Be Friends Blog Hop (link ups).

Hi, I am April. Remember me? I used to blog. Every day. It seems that I have neglected my blog this week. I just haven't been feeling the blogging writing bug this week. I was going to blog last night, but TV got the best of me (and the evening).

So, without further ado, here is my Five on Friday for this week.

1. My Avon Leadership Pack arrived today! I actually had no idea that it was coming, and hubby discovered it on our door this morning. So, I had something fun to open up...and it was free!! I love unexpected surprises!

2. Every once in awhile (like twice a year), I get the urge to make something really interesting. I was watching one my of fav cooking shows Best Recipes Ever the other day, and she had on a few really neat recipes that looked fairly easy and delicious to make! I was feeling motivated the other day to make something, and since we had steak ready to be eaten, and I had the time, I thought, why not?? I made Shallot and Garlic Butter, Marinated Steak, and Twice Baked Potatoes. They all turned out really well. This picture doesn't do them justice. I didn't EVERYTHING (the steak I used was different than what they said, but who cares?), and I added a few extras, and it turned out well. Even hubby, who is a picky eater liked them. And yes, the butter sounds odd with the steak, but trust me, it is very good and it does add extra flavour!

3. I started my Long Wknd off right. A Salted Caramel Mocha from Starbucks!

4. Although this isn't a favourite, it is new to me this week. I now have to monitor my blood at home. It sucks...but I have to admit, it IS kind of cool to see how your BS is during the day.

5. We are definitely having cooler weather. It was -1 the other morning!! EEK!!
This was from the other day (yesterday, I think?).

Linking up with Nancy @ Rural Journal

1. It is Thanksgiving in Canada this wknd!!! I heart Thanksgiving!! I think even better than Christmas! No gifts, better weather, nice colours, and it doesn't take up as much time commitments!

I also get to see the puppies this wknd!

2. A man from our little village (where I grew up) been missing since Sunday. The entire community, plus helicopters, RCMP (police), and Search Teams have been out all week! My family is helping to look as well. Our church bldng has been a base for the SAR/RCMP, etc. If you would like to chk out the news clip our local news stn did on this yesterday, click here. My dad is the Pastor that they interview(ed). So, because of this man being missing, and everyone is
out looking, our LW may look a little different than normal. We are just playing it by ear.

3. I have an interview this afternoon. I am excited, but nervous!!

4. This wknd is going to be CRAZY, as we have a wedding to go to (reception, too) tomorrow, have to help Anker clean the church, then head off to the ranch late Sat eve. I am so happy, though. I love wknds like this!

5. I have given up on CCS and FHS. I CANNOT get past the current levels that I am on. I think they are cheating me. I don't have time to play games like that anymore.

That is all for this wk!!! I will try to do a Thanksgiving Edition of TToT.

PS. Just a few more things to add...

A. I have been feeling sick the last few evenings, and I am sure why or what...hmm...I even wasn't feeling well during the night, and even this morning. I hope whatever it is will go away soon.

B. We went over our finances with Anker's Support Worker on Wednesday. We are going to try the "envelope" route and see how things go. We want to totally revamp our finances/budget. We need to. There isn't a choice, really.

C. I helped my friend and neighbour get her spare room in order. It made me want to organise our house. Maybe.

D. This was brought to my attention on FB this morning..
This made me very sad. Will probably pick it up later today.

Five on Friday/Random 5/Let's Be Friends Blog Hop

Linking up with the girls for Five on Friday!

                                                1. Puppies! I mean, how adorbs is this??
She is not a super-impressive mom. LOL. She had 8!!!
My brothers little dog had her 2nd litter in 10 months. No worries. This will be her last.

2. Coffee date with Hubby.
Yes, we went to Starbucks!!! We also went to a Gourmet Popcorn and Fudge shop. Yum!

3. Impromptu Girls evening Manicures (sorry, no pics). I met up with my neighbour earlier this week, and we ended up doing our nails. Such fun!

4. I bought two CD's this wk.
Yup. I had to have KU's new CD. I also got the Wow Hits 2014 from work. Love both of them!

5. Farm fresh eggs and corn.

5.1 Spending lots of time with SIL while I was at the farm. On my way home, we stopped in C to have coffee. When I saw this, I had to have it.
Oh yah, cherry chocolate cream cheese tart.

5 Random (Farm Edition/facts) about me.

1. I pretty much lived in bare feet from late spring to fall. The funny thing is, my lil sister does the same thing! Life was too busy for shoes and socks.

2. I hate chickens. I will actually go all lengths to avoid them. Like walk around the entire farm to avoid one. True story. I was attacked by a rooster at the age of three.

3. I love the smell of gas. Especially when I got my drivers license. Our farm had (and still has) gas tanks (with gas). It represented freedom. Or something. I love the smell.

4. My first "fort" was a play house that my dad and his friend built. I spent hours playing on/in/around it. I was very sad when I came home one year to find out that they had taken it down. Something about rotting roof? :)

5. My mom had a HUGE garden growing up. I hated the weeding, but I loved the planting and harvesting. My mom still plants a garden to this day (along with my brothers' help).

I am linking up with Tiffany at The Dwelling Tree for this Friday's Let's Be Friends Blog Hop:)

Five on Friday/Random 5/Let's Be Friends Blog Hop

Linking up with the girls again for Five on Friday, and Nancy for Random 5. (please note, I had somehow messed this up, and it opened another page, and I didn't worry about it...I had done the ENTIRE post, and even saved it..somehow...it didn't save, and it reverted back the original page..I am not happy!!!)

It is a lovely Friday! This Friday actually means something to me, as I have the whole weekend off:) It is raining..oh how I love fall:)

1. My weekly mags:) I am getting Canadian Living and Chatelaine delivered to my house, and I bought the other two last night. I love my mags:)
 2. I mentioned this earlier this week that our women's Bible Study that we are doing Soul Detox. The first wk went really well, and I really enjoyed it. I borrowed the book-book, and I hope to at least skim through it this wknd. I also want to read and maybe even buy The Christian Atheist. I read a few pages yesterday, and it really seems to speak to us and where we are right now. It is also easy and short.

3. This was the only picture I could find, but it is Premiere Week! I am loving the shows (so far!). We watched BBT, and GA (at least most of it) last night. They were both really good, esp when they double their premier times. I can't wait to watch Master Chef JR tonight, and Amazing Race on Sunday!
 4. My (fake) blue-suede shoes. I bought these last May for my aunt wedding. They only cost $9. True Story. I can't bear to put on socks and shoes just yet, and it is too cold for flip flops and sandals, so this is the next best thing. They hurt my feet, but I still love them.

4. I mentioned this earlier in the week, but it is one of my FoF's of this week, so I wanted to mention it again...in on of our infertility groups I am in, we were paired up with someone, and we did a gift exchange, and this is what I got. Necklace, mirror/purse compact, nail polish, lipstick and holder, and a tunic-shirt. I love them!

1. I think I am getting a cold. I started coughing/snorting yesterday and last night. Ugh!

2. I am looking forward to this wknd. Tomorrow, my friend and I are going to a sales mtng an hour away, then hubs and I are going my parents'. We are going to see the new puppies family, as we haven't seem them in awhile. We aren't 100% sure we are going to get up there for Thanksgiving, so I think we will go now.

3. I have mentioned this before, but I love our library. I had asked awhile back if they could order season three of Hot in Cleveland (they had the previous two), and sure enough, they did!! I am so happy!

4. I think I am going to take a break from reading novels for a bit. I don't seem to have enough time for them lately, well with tv, and playing my games, and all:) I am looking forward to reading the above-mentioned books, though.

5. I have (re) discovered Candy Crush Saga and started playing Farm Heroes Saga. Hubby and I are having a bit of a contest to see who can get to the highest level the fastest. I may or may not be losing.

Linking up with Tiffany at The Dwelling Tree as well.
ALSO...my good blogging friend Kelly is hosting a blog link up for mommas of special needs. Hop on over!

That is all this wk! Happy Friday!

5 on Friday/Random 5/Let's Be Friends Link ups.

Happy Friday!

Did anyone notice that I took a couple of days off from blogging? Did anyone miss me? Naw..I thought not:)

I hope everyone's week went well. Mine went ok...I have LOTS of random things to share. I will try to keep them short, though.

First...5 on Friday

1. On Monday (?) a friend from my home church came into to town and took me to dinner. We are keeping her car while she flies East for a couple of weeks. She is such a sweetheart, and would do anything for you. So for thanking us for keeping her car, she took me out (hubby stayed at home). We went to White Spot, which is a BC favourite, and had a great time. The food wasn't quite as good as it normally is, but the conversation more than made up for it. Their milkshakes are always good!

2. I have been hanging out with my neighbour a lot. We hung out a bit last weekend, and we have been texting a lot this week. We will probably get together this wknd for a Brideszilla fest:)

3. We got The Big Bang Theory season 6 yesterday. We spent the rest of our night watching it. I love that show! We spent a good part of each episode

4. Have I mentioned to you on how much I like C0stco? They have cheap(er) movies/dvds (W@lmart was selling TBBT for over $40, C had them for just under $30). Their gas is cheaper than the rest of this town, and their magazines are cheaper, and they come in a day early than everywhere else, and you can get yummy (fast) food for a good price.

5. Hubby and I had date night at C0stco last night. We had fun...walking the aisles sampling free food (sadly, they were closing down as we got there), and losing each other. We had supper at their "food court" and then went home to watch TBBT.

5.1. I am loving DA. I am in the middle of season 2. I may have to buy it. All 3 seasons. Yes, I know. I am sad. Or something. I really do like that show, though.

5.2. I told you a while back that I love Zedge. I spent a few minutes the other day downloading autumn wallpapers.

And now for the next part of my post...

1. I applied for a few jobs this week. Sadly, nothing has come from them. I do have an interview at a place that I dropped off a resume awhile back. I am for the most part taking a break from job hunting right now.

2. Celine Dion has a new CD coming out in November. I will be in line to buy it, for sure. I also want to get KU's new CD. I nearly bought it yesterday, but I restrained myself.
Yes, I am an unashamed fan. I love her. I think I have all (or at least most) of her CD's/

3. I entered our local TV Stations photo contest on FB.
What do you think? You think I have a shot?

4. Along that line, I saw my first Autumn tree the other day. I was sad/happy both at once:) Fall is nearly here!

5 My AV program has expired, so I am looking for a new one (preferably free) to download. I think I found one. Have to ask hubby first.

5.1. I can't let this wk go without acknowledging 9/11. That will be one day in history that I will remember where I was, and what I was doing. I will never forget. Hubby spent most of the day watching 9/11 stuff on TV. I find it too sad to watch it over and over again (and to be honest, it kind of becomes the same after awhile), but the bit I did watch made me remember. Although we Canadians were "safe", we were all too well made aware of it, as most every airport all over the country (and essentially, the world), was closed for a few days. I know that some Canadians were also killed that day (don't remember the numbers, I know..bad me).

5.2. I am really trying to take better care of myself. You know, brush my teeth, put on night cream, take me meds more effiantly, am trying to eat better. That sort of thing.

5.3 I have been debating about joining Lindken. Is it worth it?

5.4 Judge Judy is now airing new episodes!! I love that woman!

5.5. Hubby and I spent Tuesday night watching TV. Hwy Thru Hell, WDYTYA, TLC, and some BBT's on TV. Fun night.

5.6 . I had my last texting convo with my sister for the next three months on Sunday. I miss her so much! While she is away, I have on my Big Sis necklace. I hope she has hers on, too:)

5.7 We have crazy party people living in the complex below us (they are still in the same development, just a different unit). They are nice enough, but can get noisy (esp with their music blaring). At least the only time we hear it is when they blare it in the parking lot.

Well, that is more than enough for today!

After work, I am heading to SBX, then to the mall:)

Random-ness (And Floods and Fires)

Y'all, I STILL can't seem to upload photos from my laptop to the blog. I am really upset. I think my laptop just needs be updated, ...
