BV

***Please note that this involves talking about intimate health details; if this is not your cup of tea, then I would suggest you move on by!!***

***Please ALSO note that this is not a sponsored post. This is just something that I have been wanting to write about for awhile, and I MIGHT have some sort of cure to/for this***

K, so the first tiny part was written who knows when....I have since discovered no cure yet...:(

For quite sometime now, I have suffered from Bacterial Vaginosis, or BV. It has a range of different symptoms; anywhere from a horrid smell, to itchiness, to burning when you pee, to discharge...well, you get the idea. I don't know on how long I have had it for. I have had the smell for YEARS. I think I naturally just have that sort of smell, but I also know that I also suffer from BV. My symptoms are the smell, discharge, and itchiness (though I could have reoccurring yeast infections). I have been on a round or two of antibiotics, but it always comes back. I have it ALL the time! There might be times in my cycle where it won't be as noticeable, but those are few and far between. I had joined a chat group on Patient, but I really didn't get much help. Well, my little sister who has finished her Midwife Degree, and knows all my issues, suggested that I try a combo garlic pills, acidophilus, and cranberry juice. Oh, and cut out sugar. Ha! Yah, right!!! Seriously, I did try the combo (I will be honest, I wasn't great at taking the acidophilus every day, but I was pretty good at taking the juice and pills...and sadly, the symptoms did not disappear. She also told me to use Apple Cider Vinegar, but since I have been having other health issues (which I will probably write about soon), I have stopped the current "treatment", and I haven't bothered with the ACV. Living with BV, though certainly not life threatening, is annoying! It gets worse on warm/hot days, and depending on what underwear I am wearing, but for the most part, I can't figure out what makes it worse, or less smelly (though, I am sure that sugar plays a HUGE part in it!). Sometimes the smell is SO bad, I can hardly stand it. I am not sure if others notice it. Anker says that he doesn't. I don't douche, and I know that you aren't supposed to wash down there, but I do, b/c I can't help it...I have to wash away the smell! I don't use super smelly soaps, though. YOU CANNOT WASH BV AWAY! I will usually wear panty liners, and that does help with the discharge, and keeping things "cool", but other than that, I can't do much else about it. Does anyone else suffer from this? I have started a group on FB, as there wasn't one started. Can you believe that no one has created one? Of all the kinds of groups there are out there? It isn't a big group, but there are a few people on/in it. It helps to know that there are people who have the same issues as you. Anyway...that is just a small blurb one of the MANY health issues that I have.
