Five on Friday

I haven't done an FoF in AGES, so I thought I would do one for this week. I don't even know if I will link up, as the way links are done have changed SO much in the last few months! Anyway, here are some of my favourites from the last couple of weeks :)

1) A couple of weeks ago, I spent some of the day with my teacher friend. We went for coffee, went to the mall, and I found a couple of fun things to buy for myself at La Vie en Rose. We went to Sephora, where I had a quick eye makeover, and I got a few things. It was a fun day, and I really needed it :)

2) Last week, my friend and I (and her two kids), went to her parents' house, about 30 minutes east of the city for 28 hours, and we had the BEST time! We watched A Star is Born, ate, visited, went for a walk, slept, ate, visited, and ate some more! I will probably try do to a blog post about that soon :)

3) I haven't been reading books much lately, but I actually (re)started one today (plus another one last night). They are two (well, actually 3, as I have been stuck in the middle of one for ages, plus another WW2 book) Danielle Steel books. One is called The Duchess (I have stopped reading it, and I hope it pick it up to finish it soon), and one is called Turning Point (I actually had read 1 chapter a few weeks ago, but I read a few more chapters today), and her brand new one called Lost and Found. I am also trying to finish The Librarian of Auschwitz, but I am not even half way through it, but I am committed, and it isn't a bad book, so I want to see it through.

4) My summer has been going very well. I am at my parents' house for a few days, and I actually cannot believe on how busy it has been. I have had a few days where I haven't done much, which has been nice, but between babysitting, visiting with friends, time away, coffee-ing with friends, shopping with friends (I think you get the idea!), and errands (and of course, the library!), and a few other things. I actually haven't had a ton of time at home (which is partially my choice...but more on that another time). I have had a few days where I have been reading (magazines), and doing not much at all, which has been awesome. And no, I haven't really even journaled in ages! I did start a week ago, but I never finished the entry, so I have an extra week to catch up on! I wish I could say that I have been productive at home, but I haven't. I just don't like cleaning (therefore, don't like being home b/c of said mess), especially when it is hot. I joke that I am probably more productive the last couple of weeks before school than I am the whole summer! Oh, yah, and I DID go in this last Monday to help "my" teacher move into her new classroom.

5) I am thankful that we have had a mixture of sun and rain this summer. Ok, not a lot of rain, but at least we haven't had our city covered in smoke! I (these last couple of sentences were done on July 16) remember this time last year our city was covered in smoke...not fun! I wish we would get a bit more rain, but at least it hasn't been as dry as it was this time last year.

I am also linking up with Della Devoted for this week's High Five for Friday!

Birthday Weekend

Well, it has been over a month since I had my birthday, but I am going to write about it anyway :)

To be honest, I am not 100% sure of EVERYTHING that I did during the weekend, but I will try to remember!

The Friday of my bday wknd, I had a few gifts given to me at school. One of the students' moms gave me a GC to/for Starbucks. My teacher bought me a Starbucks drink, and Anker had made strawberry muffins the day before (I think!). Friday itself was a great day, if I can remember. Not sure what I did on Friday evening. Judging from my IG and Twitter feeds, it looks like I watched TV and threw up some pics :) Fun and wild times at our house!

Saturday: According to my blog, I hammered out a few blog posts! I actually started one of them on Thursday, at Starbucks, of course! My parents were in town, so they stopped by to drop off my gift (on Thursday), which was a Lavender Pillow. It was fun to see and have a short chat with them. So, back to Saturday, my brother called to ask us for waffles, and shocker of shockers, Anker came along! We had a wonderful waffle brunch (it was sort of a bday/anniversary celebration), and hen Anker and Krystle went to the Farmer's Market, and I looked after J, while Adam and H helped a friend move. I literally sat on the couch, while he napped. Then, Anker and I ran a few errands together (I think!). We went to our local dollar store, where I decided to pick out my presents (yes, we are weird like that), and I don't know, but I think we might have grabbed a coffee, or an ice cream, or something. I got a personal cooler (which looked a little like something else..lol), and a cold drink cup, complete with an infuser. I dropped him off (I think?), and I went to Starbucks (according to IG), and blogged :) I probably went to the library, but I am not sure. Saturday evening, my friends put on a bday party for me. We have a new rule (which I didn't create...lol) of no longer doing gifts, but I still got cards. We had a lovely meal (which I didn't take a picture of) of steak, corn on the cob, and baked potatoes, and I think some salads. My friend made cake, which was a combination of devil's food cake and angel food. It was...interesting! We had a wonderful visit, and then I came hone and went to bed at who knows what time.

Sunday: For my actual birthday, I slept in (probably), and I had a relaxing morning at home. I was debating about seeing a movie, but there wasn't any out that I really wanted to see, so I decided to go to the mall, to see what I could find :) I got my Birthday Gift from Sephora, and I went to Saje to look around the store, as they have just opened, and I wanted to go and see what all the fuss is about. I actually bought a few things there, which were kind of cool. I got a Yam Scrub (which I LOVE!), and their Lavender Love bar soap (I have enough bars of soap to last until the Rapture...I do NOT need anymore bar soap!) that supposedly helps with cleaning your face, and I LOVE the smell! I also managed to get a free (albeit very small) sample of one of their essential oils for me to use and to review. Sadly, I cannot remember what it is at the moment. Oops! My gramma had given me some $, which I WAS going to use "responsibly", but I decided to do something fun for myself. Even though we spend (too much) money for eating out, coffee, the odd magazine, etc, I very rarely buy something of tangible substance just for me. I went to Quilts, Etc, as we are in the market for new duvet (ours in 12 years old). I ended up buying some dish towels, and was about to leave when I saw a PINK duvet cover! It was only $25 (or less) from $40, and I HAD to buy it! Anker was ok with the pink colour (I had called to ask him before I bought), and we really like it. I do have a few pictures of my gifts, but I won't post them all here. You can find them on my IG or FB pages. I went to Starbucks to get my free drink. I decided to have the Dragon Fruit Frap (or the Pink/Purple Drink), and it was really good! I read magazines, and relaxed. I think I went for a drive down near our house and I called people who had called me on/for my birthday! Of course, the day was fun, with FB messages, texts and calls from friends and family.

Monday: I got a coffee and a bday gift from my teacher, and a few little things from friends, and after work, my friend and I went for coffee, where she not only treated me to coffee, but gave me ANOTHER card towards Starbucks!

It was a really fun weekend, and I enjoyed having some quiet and some busy times, which made for a great time!

My aunt gave me this lipstick from Merle Norman, and I love it!!!
Here are some that I screenshot "grid style" on my phone. I have discovered this new way of doing it, as it doesn't take too long to post individual pictures. I either post them on IG or FB (I either do them from my IG or FB pics). You can still head on over to either my IG or FB page to take a look and for more detailed info.

My teacher gave me a sample bag of Locctaine (Sephora), and I love it!!!!

43 Things About Me/12 Things About US (Plus a few more!)

So, I have 8 or so blog drafts to post, but I am going to start with the easiest one :)

First off, Happy (Official!) Summer, Everyone! I love summer! I love the time off (though, two months is too long for this girl, and our bank account isn't happy!). I love the weather, I love the lazy, hazy days of summer. I haven't done a lot of "summer things" (ie: swimming) yet, but I will most likely get to them soon....or not :) I have already had a few nice days of doing nothing, which have been lovely!

So, it was my birthday last month (yes, I am months behind in blogging some of parts of my life!), and I had wanted to do a post on 43 Things About Me (you know, like in Us Weekly!). I did a similar post here a few years ago, and I am pretty sure that I have done another one just like this, but I cannot find it anywhere, and I am going to try to find it, because #aintnobodygottimeforthat!

Here Goes:

1) I grew up on a sheep ranch (where my parents still live). For a number of years, we were the largest sheep ranch in/of Western Canada. Our ranch is considered a working/heritage ranch. They even have papers to prove it. They also have a B&B on said ranch. You can find them both here. I am not a vegetarian, but I do believe in sustainable and ethical animal raising :) I try to eat my family's own lamb and beef as much as possible! I also try to only get farm-fresh eggs :)
2) I am the oldest of 7 (full) siblings. There is 21 years between the youngest and myself..
3) My favourite job is the one I have now (EA in a school).
4) If you want to torture me, feed me split pea soup. That stuff is nasty (sorry, Mom!)!
5) If am correct, I think I have moved 20 times in my entire life, and I have had just as many jobs.
6)  I am a PK, and a home-educated kid, and I loved it (most of the time!)
7) I went to Europe for two months when I was 20, and I loved it! I spent my 20t0th bday in Venice!
8) I spent most of my childhood in bare feet, playing outside by the creek and making forts for hours.
9) I really have no clue on how I got my driver's license, as I have NO depth perception! I can't parallel park to save my life!
10) Talking about a size of something (like a house) means nothing to me, until I see it. This includes seeing something during renovations or a new build. The rooms always look so small to me when they are under construction. I don't get the full idea of them until I see them when they are done.
11) Doing things (climbing down things, or jumping over/stepping over) are hard b/c of my said no depth perception.
12) I love to people/car/parking lot watch.
13) I wanted to be a ballerina growing up. I have not yet been to a ballet.
14) I went on a 100 year old roller coaster about 10 years ago, and I STILL am traumatized by it!
15) My dream weekend (alone or with Anker)/holiday would be spending in a hotel with books, magazines, and TV. Or maybe to and Island..I don't care...:)
16) Probably my post EPIC birthday was my brother's wedding. It was in Toronto, and such fun. There was cake and presents...sadly, they weren't for me!
17) My first "Friend" on FB was either one of my childhood friend, one of my brothers, or one of my cousins. Funnily enough, I actually resisted joining FB for awhile.
18) I went back to school (for the third time!) to get my Educational Assistant Diploma. My husband has always been supportive in what I do (leisure or career), and I will be forever grateful to him for that!
19) I share my middle name with a castle.
20) I spent the first 22 months of my life in the hospital, and 9 years ago, I got sick, and I went back to the same hospital (but different wing).
21) I would much rather have a relaxing holiday, then a busy/adventurous one.
22) I don't have a favourite season. I love them all for what they bring.
23) I consider pie (with delicious crust, and great filling) to be probably my most fave dessert.
24) I love a ton of fruits and veggies, but I could care less for them in certain flavours and their juice.
25) I wanted to also be a teacher, a flight attendant and a nurse.
26) But my #1 thing was to be a mom.
27)  If I had kept all of my IG posts, I would probably have nearly 7,000 (ok, maybe 5 or 6)! I tend to get obsessive about it sometimes. I have (and continue to) deleted a few older and less "liked" pics.
28) I remember MSN Messenger. Yes, I am that old. Yes, I used it. No, there is no shame!
29) Driving around big cities scare me. I DID drive around Calgary last yr (twice!) and we survived!
30) My favourite food is probably lamb chops, with followed closely with/by seafood.
31) I hate the dentist. Like, for real. I usually have to have a sedative. This dates back to when I was 6, and I had my first cavity, and the dentist wasn't very nice. The needle going in your gums is quite traumatic, let me tell you.
32) I also wanted to be a figure skater.
33) I also wanted to join the army (and maybe be an army nurse). Apparently, I was an overachiever.
34) I joined Twitter in 2009, Instagram in 2013, and Pinterest in 2012 (I think?).
35) My fave verse is Jeremiah 29:11 (followed with a close second is Matthew 6:25-34).
36) I can't draw worth a darn. Or print (including on a board). Or cut on a straight line. Nor can I do math. Apparently, I am in the wrong occupation! But I love it!
37) I am trying my hardest to share the my Bible Apps VOD every day this year on IG/FB. I might miss a day or two, but I always share it!. Chk out the hashtag #dailybibleverseeverydayforayear.
38) We have been with and without cell phones during our time together (and of course, us individually before-hand). When I got sick 9 years ago, we didn't have one. I have no idea on how we survived that! Thankfully, my mom (and several others) had phones, so that helped.
39) I've been blogging for as many yrs as I have been married (I started on FB notes, and it morphed from there). I also have have a blog FB page. You and ck it out here. It "needs" more "likes"!
40) I have played probably about 20 or so games (Farmville/Fluff Friends) on FB in the last 12 years, but I don't play any right now (I haven't in over a year). It feels so freeing!
41) I used to have a My Space page, where I am pretty sure that I blogged a bit on there, as well.
42) I follow over 200 blogs, have over 1400 friends on FB, have a million pins on Pinterest, and I follow nearly 7500 accounts on IG. I have over 14K Tweets, and I follow over 3,000 accounts. I think the top of my blog page has my IG link (you can Google or ask me for the Twitter, FB, and PT links). And yes, I am on Social Media WAY more than Anker is!
43) I will probably never get a Snap Chat or Linkedin account. I just don't see the point.
44) (B/C I am in my 44th year) Even though I grew up on a ranch (don't call it a farm!), I am deathly afraid of horses (two accidents will do that to you), chickens (especially roosters), dogs (unless I know them really well!), cows (b/c they are so big!), but not sheep! I can't climb a fence to save my life, and I hate gardening (nor do I bake pies, or preserve fruits and veggies very well)! I am so not a country gal much anymore! But, it continues to be my best happy place (and no, a farm is not really relaxing like people say!).

..and a few more..just because :) I think I have done this about our wedding/marriage before, but here goes :

12 Things About Us

1) We met online on a dating site.
2) We talked online/dated for 5 months before getting engaged, then, we were engaged for approx. 6 months (from the time he put the ring on my finger)
3 Our wedding photos were taken on a film camera. I am kind of disappointed in them, as the photographer wouldn't touch them up, nor did we get any really fun shots.
4) Our Anniversary is July 27, 2007. Our wedding day was 40C or something!
5) I got married "late" in life at 31.
6) Our rings are from Walmart, and they are just as beautiful as if we had spent thousands of dollars on them! My wedding dress was the first (or second) that I tried on. Yes, it was off the rack. Our colour scheme was blue.
7) Since I joined FB a few weeks before getting married, very little was shared to/on FB during my wedding day (about the wedding).
8) Our wedding was very memorable, but done on the cheap (not in a bad way!). I don't understand people who spend 10's of thousands of dollars on their wedding!
9) We have lived in two places together, and one city.
10) We have had 4 cars, and 8 cats (though not all at once!).
11) The furthest we have travelled together is to Victoria, BC.
12) We went camping to Cultus Lake, BC on our honeymoon. We also spent a night at his sister's (they were away), and we watched the Symphony of Lights.
13) (Just because) We have survived road trips, infertility, several health issues, tons of trials; highs and lows; mountains and valleys, but there is no one I would rather "do life" with than him (mostly. b/c we are the only people who can stand each other!)!

Can I just say that I don't know on how moms with young kids blog? It took me AGES to blog ONE (semi) simple blog post yesterday/today! Also, this has morphed into "100 Things About Me/Us", b/c I have combined quite a few "things" per number (I think I am getting obsessive about this!).

Here are a few more randoms...
I would rather have internet than TV at our house.
I still listen to CDs, and I still watch things on DVDs.
I believe that birthdays should be national holidays :)
Gifts (giving and receiving) are my Love Languages.

Big Little Science Centre

Before we went on our Easter Break, a couple of classes went to the Big Little Science Centre for a field trip. We were doing a segment on water, and they have a good water information/experimentation program, and we also wandered around the general Hands On rooms, as well as there are several exhibits (like you would find at a museum) that "visits" throughout the year. I had only really been there once for a Mining and Gem show, but I hadn't actually toured it, so it was really fun to spend time there. The day was perfect for walking, and we also had a picnic before we went in, so it was a fun, but busy day!

There are two main "Hands On" Rooms (it is in a former school, so it has a very "school-like" feel to it), and that is in the former gym. The kids had fun playing and experimenting with stuff. There was everything from a magic table that makes you look like you are cut in half, to rocks, minerals, and fun puzzles to put together, and an eagle that you can balance on your finger! I think there are probably 50-100 (ok, maybe not 100) different "experiments" that anyone can do and play with. A half hour on each "side" wasn't near enough (at least not for me!), as I could have probably spent a good hour looking at everything! I don't know if they change their hands on activities through the year or not. I am assuming probably some things stay the same, and some things get changed around. Afterwards, we went to the water section of the tour. It was ok, but I was a bit disappointed, to be honest, on how few experiments we got to do in (about) water. I wish it was a bit more interesting for the kids, but at least I think they got some knowledge out of it :) The water section was about a half hour, and like I said, I wish that we could have done some more water-related experiments (and would have gotten some more info), but I would definitely go back (if just for the Hands On Room!), and I might even take my nephews there this summer!

Btwn the half hour walk there and back, picnic, bathroom breaks, and the two separate part of the tours, it definitely took a good part of the school day! I will post pictures here, but again, head on over to my IG/FB accounts for more (I took way more, but I didn't end up posting them, as there was a lot of pretty much the same thing).

I loved the Hands On Room!!!
This was too cool!!!

Neighbours and Nieces

This (and subsequent posts) is SO out of order, but oh well :) This is about our May Long (or Victoria Day) Wknd (May 17- 20, 2019). My friend was the one who came up with the name of this post, so I thought I would run with it :) She is very clever :) And again, I will post a few pics, but most of them will be on my IG or FB accounts.

Friday, May 17: This was a PRO D for our school (and most of the schools in Canada, I think), so I woke up a little later than usual, and off I went for a morning of learning. There was a little celebration for someone going on MAT leave (we have a 1 yr paid leave in Canada), so we had a few munchies, and then I ran off to what I had hoped would be a quick fix in our A/C. It wasn't. Sigh. I think I ran a few errands, and then I came home at around 2 or 3. I had found out that Anker had gotten a bit upset with the neighbours who were a bit loud, but they seemed to have (at least at the time) sorted things out. Seth and Naomi and K were coming for the weekend, so I ended up cleaning up the place, and I don't even remember what we did for supper. They came at around 9 or so, and we visited and they put the baby to bed, and we went to sleep (or rather, they did...I didn't sleep well at all).

Saturday, May 18: In the morning, Naomi and K and I went to the Farmers' Market (Seth worked until noon), and we met up with A and K, and their kids. We didn't spend a ton of time, as it was a bit cold, and Naomi wasn't feeling well (we found out later what it was, but I won't say it on here). We went to Starbucks, and then Seth met us, and the 4 of us (Anker stayed home) had dinner at a local Chinese food restaurant, and it was delicious! We spent the rest of the day visiting, and relaxing. N and I sat outside and visited, which was nice. If I can remember correctly, I think it is a bit of a cool-ish weekend, so we didn't spend a ton of time outside. Or, maybe it was nice, but I don't remember!

Her little face just kills me!

Sunday, May 19: Seth decided to take N to the hospital, and I took K to church, then to McD's. We had fun together, and I am SO GLAD that I spent time together, as that was the last time that I would see them for who knows how long now, as they are on to new adventures! Anyway, K and I had fun :)    I took a bazillion pictures, and even though it took her ages to warm up to me, she sure does love me now! She and Anker even had some fun times playing a few little games together! I dropped her off with her dad, and I took my respite friend and we grabbed a drink, and we watched a movie at her house. It was the new female Ghostbusters, which was ok, but kind of odd. We took a quick drive around the park, where we spotted LOTS of geese and their goslings! I dropped her off, and we had a nice evening (I think?) or rather, what was left of said evening.

Monday, May 20: I think Monday was a pretty chill day. I don't even remember what we did; I think  I watched TV/movies, and I probably read. I might have done laundry. We did run out for a few hours to grab a few things, and we went to Adam's, but they weren't home. We found Adam and the boy sin the park, where we visited for a few minutes. I think we just went home and had dinner, and I probably watched TV.

How was your Victoria/Memorial Day Longs Wknds?

Three Dates, Two Weekends, and (Less Than!) One Month Left!

Hi, Friends!

Yes, I am STILL around! I haven't been good and keeping up with this little space of mine. If you want to see what I have been up to lately without having to read a bunch of drivel, then, head on over to my IG Page to/and have a look!

So, what have I/we been up to? A lot, yet not a lot at the same time! I will try to fill you in on what has been happening since I last posted :)

First off, there is less than ONE MONTH LEFT of school! Can I get an AMEN? I am one tired CEA!!! I love my job, but I am SO looking forward to a break! That being said, though, I really cannot complain that much, as this week (and even last) have been pretty easy. We are swimming in the afternoons, so that is pretty fun. I have a few things lined up this summer, and I happy to have a change of/in pace. I had hoped to go to Calgary for a couple of weeks, but I don't think that will happen now. I might go at the end of the summer, for a few days, but I will see what happens!

Next up is about my wknds: I find that I will have one busy, then one restful weekend, which have been nice. It is kind of nice to have a mix of busy and rest/quiet, especially during this time of year (in the winter, though I like to be busy, I like to stay home a bit more).

This last weekend was a busy one! Friday night, I went with my friend to our school's production of "Alice in Wonderland". It was ok, but I was tired, and the gym was hot. We grabbed a drink (yay for McDs' $1 drinks!) and drove around the park. I dropped her off, and went home and can't remember what I did. I think I went to bed early, as I was SO tired! Saturday, I relaxed in the morning, and I was craving French Toast, so I made and had that, and then Anker and I had a few things to do, and he dropped me off downtown, as I was helping at a Christian Music Festival called Rise. This was the first outdoor one (they had an indoor concert last year of the same name), that they have had (and I think that Kamloops has had), and it was awesome! I was at my school's tent (we had an info tent up) for an hour, and then I wandered around for a bit, and then I went to help out doing the lyric slides for the various bands. I wish I could have spent more time actually listening to them, and I could have relaxed a bit more, but I still had a great time, and I think it went really well! I hope they do it again next year! I got a ride home with my brother, and then, I ended up having dinner with them. Adam drove me home, and then I had a bath and went to bed. I was exhausted! Sunday, I actually WANTED to go to church, despite my being busy all day the day before, and I am SO GLAD I did, as they. needed me for lyric slides there as well. After church, I went to the park for a bit, and I read. Then Anker and I went to A and K's for supper that evening. It was supposed to be a goodbye dinner for S and N (my brother and SIL), as they were headed to Oregon to start their new adventure! They ended up changing their plans, but we went ahead with the dinner without them. We had a nice time, but we were both tired. We left at 6 (we ate at 4), and we came home and I watched TV and hung out. We didn't sleep well, as our neighbours got a bit loud. Thankfully, they quietened down soon after.

Two weekends ago, I had needed a weekend of rest, as the weekend prior had been busy (I am writing my life out of order, but I will write about our Victoria Day Long Weekend soon, I hope!), and I just needed some down time. I had asked Anker to go out with me, but he didn't want to go, so I went alone. Mom and Dad were on the Island visiting my brother and his family, so it was a perfect getaway for me! I had decided to take the Friday the 24th off, and I really am glad I did, as I needed it! I slept in, relaxed, I spent time in the garden/backyard for a good part of the morning/early afternoon! I read, and ate breakfast :) Yum! I think I ran some errands, and then I went to my parents' for the weekend. Anker was more than welcome to come with me, but he wanted to stay at home. I just hung out, relaxed, ate food, relaxed some more, and did some visiting. It was SO MUCH FUN!!!! I made some yummy meals, too! Friday night, I cooked up some mutton chops, and then next night, I made some Mandarin Orange Chicken. I watched TV/moves, and I enjoyed having the bed all to myself. I went to church on Sunday, and got ready to leave, as I had to be back into town for about 5, as we girls were having our BBQ! We had a wonderful time, the food, and company were wonderful, and I was (almost!) ready for the new week!

Anker and I have been on a few dates together, and it has been lovely! We have had 3 "big dates", and a few "small dates". The Friday before Mother's Day, we went to our local Mexican Fast Food Place, and it was SO GOOD! We went grocery shopping (!), and to the dollar store. The next day, we went to the 4th Annual Green Living Expo. We also went to a couple of garden places, and to a local bakery for a snack. We have been to Erwin's Bakery before, and they are really good! Anker loves their meringues. We also went to Art Knapps Garden, and Purity Feed to look for some gardening items (we didn't find a ton, but we found a few things). We got our A/C fixed in our car (yay for buying that $1100 warranty!), so we only had to pay $100, vs nearly $1000! We grabbed a coffee at Starbucks, then Anker got his hair cut. We went to the dollar store, and then to our local thrift store to see what was "new". Anker found a pair of pants, which he always finds challenging in finding a pair that fit him, so we called that a win-win! We went back to the the place, and we got our car :) Yes!! We love our A/C!!! A week or so ago, we went on a Doctor Date :) We went to the doctor (where we also found out that he is closing his practice!), and then grabbed pizza at Fresh Slice, and it was DELISH!!! We have been there twice, and so far, it is a 2 out of 2!!! We walked around, and then we got ice cream from Scoops Ice Cream Parlour, and we wandered around the park. We had a great evening together!!! We also have had some smaller dates....on Victoria Day Monday, we ran a few errands, and then visited Adam and the boys at the park. The other day, we went for a drive, and we grabbed a dollar drink and we visited the ducks. There was the day that we got rid of our Taurus, and we did the paperwork for that, and cancelled the insurance, though I wouldn't call that a date, so much as running errands :) And he also drove me to the park last weekend, so before that, we ran a couple of errands, so I call that a date :)

That is all for now!! I will post a few pictures, but like I said, head on over to my IG or FB accounts to find out more about what we have been up to!

I enjoyed a lovely brunch the other morning :)

The sunset while we were at the park the other week :) It was so beautiful!
I got Raspberry Cheesecake and Belgian Hazelnut. Wow!!!
I
My dinner at Senor Froggy! Yum!!! I will be getting these babies again!!!
The sunset at home is like no other :)

Five on Friday

Hi Friends, and Happy Friday! I am still around!!! I just haven't been as into blogging, and when I do feel like blogging, I am busy with other things.

I hope you are having a great SPRUMMER (yes, it is a word that made up...just go with it!)! It has come fast and furious, and we are feeling it HARD! I wish school was almost done, but alas, we still have 6 weeks left! BUT, we also don't have to go back until after Labour Day; so you win some, and you lose some!

I have about a million things to blog about, 45 to be exact (approx), so instead of giving them all to you at once, I will ease you in gradually! Ha! I am also "behind" on my IG posts, and I hope to get those done this weekend.

Here are some favourites from this last week:

1) We have a new niece! My brother, and his wife had their 3rd baby girl on May 6! They are calling her Emma, and she is so adorable! Coincidentally, another certain baby was born that day! And yes, I am not 100% sold on that name, but it HAS grown on me! What DO you get a baby who was everything? Do they even "do" showers over there???

2) Anker put one of our A/C's up the other day, and it feels like heaven! We hope that the sounds from outside isn't too loud (mainly just talking from neighbours), but Anker is going to put some more insolation in this wknd. If it is too loud, we will take it down, and suffer in silence :)

3) I spent some time with Mom on Tuesday night. She was looking after the boys (long story), and she had brought them back from the ranch. I went over at around 7, and we ate chips, and watched Our Planet, and then we visited for a bit, until we were both so tired!

4) The Lilacs are out! I repeat, the Lilacs are OUT! There is a white lilac bush near the school, and we were all picking at it this week. I grew up with lilacs, and their smell is SO intoxicating! I will wander around to our next door neighbours this wknd, and I will see about picking some pink or deep purple ones. There are a couple of neighbours in our complex who have lilac bushes, and I love the smell!!!

5) Last weekend was a COMPLETELY and TOTALLY relaxing and people-free weekend! I don't think I knew on how 1) busy I usually am with social activities, and 2) on how much I NEEDED time away from said people! I have discovered that in the last few years, that although I love and need to be with people, I LOVE and NEED to be AWAY from people! I actually got a cold last Wednesday, which was in part of why I had a no people weekend. I rested, relaxed, and journaled! The weekend before was VERY people-y, and I was exhausted the Monday afterwards, so I knew that last wknd had to be very, well, no t people-y. I didn't even go to church on Sunday! I was VERY ready to get back to work on Monday, I think in part b/c I was on my own for a good part of the wknd. This weekend is going to be a mix of people, and being alone, so that should be, well, a good mix :)

I will try to post more on the weekend!!

I don't have a picture/graphic of the other Friday blog-hop that I link up with (I used to follow 5 or 6, but they have either stopped doing the link up, or they have stopped the series altogether), so here is the other blog that I link up with on Fridays (when I do the link ups, that is!). Go and link up on/at/with Bright on a Budget for your FoF :)

Random-ness (And Floods and Fires)

Y'all, I STILL can't seem to upload photos from my laptop to the blog. I am really upset. I think my laptop just needs be updated, ...
