YES! I am still alive! I also realize that it has been well over a year since I have blogged. I just haven't felt like blogging much in the last year. I don't have the energy, will, drive, nor the words to process a blog post :) I don't want to give up blogging altogether, so I will try to write more than I did last year. Also, I am shocked that blogging is still a thing. So, how do I wrap up over a year in one post? I don't :) But hey, I can try, right? I have a few posts with or without any body waiting to be written and posted, but I just haven't felt the need, or desire to. I try and go on other bloggers' sites in order to get some inspiration, but alas, I don't seem to garner any :)
Where do I start? Uh....:)
2022: Went to Edmonton to see my friend Crystal in August. Anker and I helped my brother and his wife renovate and move into their new house (July and August). Mom, Dad and I went to the Philippines to see my sister get married in November/December. Christmas with fam in December. I guess there was food, fun and gifts, and probably snow. Had my Day of Fun with Jill in 2022 and 2023. In 2022, we went local (I think?) again, and we had lunch at Brown's Social House, and went to a play. In 2023, we went to Kelowna and went to Davison Orchards, The Jammery, and found a couple of places that were DEVINE by Okanagan Lake, that we might go to next (now this) year.
2023: Yah, I don't remember what we did. Ha! Life..we did life, I guess. I looked after my nephews a lot, and did my two respite jobs. In May, Mom, Dad, and Vienna's friend Cheryl (who works with her at the shelter in the Philippines) all piled in the Yukon and went to Calgary. I was able to visit Grandma for (what would be) the last time, before she went to Glory in October. Sadly (but practically), I made the decision not to go to her service. I was sad, but I knew that I had a few days (and one full day) of making $, so I didn't want to give it up. Thank goodness for Real Time Streaming Funeral services. I miss Grandma a ton; I still can't believe she is in Heaven, but I know for sure that she is having a fantastic time, and no longer in pain :) It still feels weird not to call her (and Grandpa, for that matter) and have a great chat. Sadly, in the last couple of years, phone calls with her was rough, as she was going downhill, and talking on the phone was hard for her. Vienna and Nestor came for 6 wks in September/October (Yes, they were able to see her one last time), and we all had a blast! We had a great Thanksgiving, and the next week, our "little" brother, Isaac, got married. It was a fun and small, but elegant wedding. Sadly, some of us (including the bride and groom) got sick. That's right. The Bride and Groom slept at our parents' place on their wedding night, because their small cabin has no toilet plumbing. Mom got sick as well. The next weekend, the rest of us got sick (the week or so prior, we had had a small bachlerotte party for Summer, and some of our family got sick as well (Nestor, Vienna, and other people). So, there's that. In the spring of 2023, my brother, Seth and his family came back to Canada. We weren't sure if it was going to be a short visit or if they were going to stay for awhile. They ended up staying at a friend's cabin (house sitting), so that is where they are at right now. It has been fun hanging out with them. Anker and I went and spent a weekend with them before Christmas. Their girls are so dear. I also did a ton of house sitting this summer. It was fun to have a house to myself. I only went to the beach a couple of times this summer. We went to Shuswap Lake at the end of July with Adam and family. I tried paddle boarding for the first time :) Right after that was the wild fire that ripped through the area, and burnt down trees and buildings. BC had another really bad wild fire season. It went through Okanagan, among other places. Thankfully, we were safe. We went to the ranch for a few days in August, to see my brother and his wife, who were visiting from the Island.
June 16, 2025
WOW!!!! It has been a HOT minute (or 3!) Since I have blogged. Is that even a thing now? Do people still make money from blogging? I think blogging these days is more about cooking, decorating and style that daily life :)
But anyhoo...I shall try to resurrect this old blog, and see what happens. Not sure who wants to hear from an older, single, childless lady, but hey..you never know. I am also trying my hand at doing a channel on YT. Again..you never know :)
Let's see....what has all happened since I last published a blog post...
Went to the Philippines in November and for two days in December in 2022. Vienna *my baby sis) found a Filipino man, is such a pet, and they got married. If you have never been in or at a wedding in 40c+ heat (with humidity), you have not yet lived!
My friend, Jill and I have gone on two of our Annual Day of Fun events. One was to Davison Orchards, and to Upside Cider, near Vernon, and the next year (last year was to Kalamalka Lake for what I call, a Swim and Sun. Sadly, there wasn't a lot of sun, as it was a bit gray, but it was still a fun time. We went to Cactus Club Cafe for a late night snack. We are looking forward to this year's day of fun :)
Our youngest brother got married, they had a baby, August, born in November. Vienna had a baby in December 2024, Joshua, who is adorable!!! Seth and Naomi are still in BC, and they have #4 now, another girl, Arianna, who was born the end of March.
Anker and I separated for 6 months last year, and I went back for 9 months, and then I left again at the end of March (it's ok, we are still doing things together and working on our stuff, I always say that nothing is forever), had 3 jobs, left those 3 jobs (not all at once), had a car accident in January, had to buy a new car (I love it), Mom nearly died in January (she has a Pacemaker...invented by a Canadian, btw..you're welcome!...we call her Robot Mom now), got a kitty from a friend, and a whole bunch of stuff that I can't remember. Life is never dull, y'all!!! I think that sums up the last 2.5 years!! I might be our church's Sunday school Director/Co-oridinator, so that is kind of fun. It makes me out to be so adult!!!
