Five On Friday

Even though I didn't work last Friday (ProD Day!), I somehow didn't get to do the weekly post. Oh well. Here are some faves from the last couple of weeks. And now, it's Sunday :) LOL.

1) Fall Leaves: I finally was able to take some pictures of the fall leaves after I left work the other day. Between my driving (thus not being able to take pictures), and not getting out much (sore knee), and not cloudy weather, I haven't been able to take as many pictures as I would like. I usually take TONS! I hope to take some more this week. They are starting to blow off the trees.

 2) Fidget Spinner: Y'all, I finally got MY OWN Fidget Spinner. It is pink/purple and sparkly, and I love it.

3) Steeped Tea: I co-hosted a Steeped Tea party the other Saturday, and I ended up getting WAY too much stuff in the end. I got a ton of stuff, and I spent WAY too much money. But, we have tea for ages.
 #teaforyears
4) New Haircut: I got a hair cut last Friday. My hair had been going crazy, and I was long overdue for one. I love it!

5) Knee: I hurt me knee at work two weeks ago, and I am SO THANKFUL that it didn't break, dislocate or fracture (well, I kind of fractured it). It is painful, and I will need a bit of physio, but I was able to (though I probably shouldn't have) go back to work the next day.

Show and Tell Tuesday: A Day in the Life

Happy Sunday!!! I am linking up with Andrea @ Momfessionals for this week's (or rather last week's Show and Tell Tuesday. This week is A Day in the Life. I ended up doing up the day that it fell on (last Tuesday, October 10), which was why I am getting to it now...that and the fact that was a week last week!
Since it has been almost a week since I documented, I kind of forgot the exact times that things happened, but here it is...

By the time I decided that I was going to to document Tuesday, it was over an hour from when I got up....so here is a picture of my 2 alarms that wake me up in the morning. I am so not a morning person. I usually wake up btwn 6:30 and 7:30.

I usually sit on our bed and get out my laptop, play my game and eat breakfast, get my coffee, get dressed, and get ready for the day.

I will sometimes look at my blogs. I follow nealy 300. I have a problem. I don't look at all them every day, but it can still take a lot of time to read (or even scroll through) them
7:30: I play on my laptop...which of course involves Facebook.
I look at my verse of the day.
7:45: I end up not putting any make up on, but I do manage to put in on one of my CBA cuffs :)

I make my lunch.

7:50: I get ready to leave. I usually take a lot of stuff.
 ...and more stuff.
...
 Kitty sometimes sees me off.
8:05 (approx): I leave for work. I get there for 8:11. I love my short commute to work.
8:15-10:05: Work. I go to my desk, greet the teacher, and other EA in our room, and we talk about our day and weekends (we came back from a 4 day weekend!). I get ready for the day. We greet the students, and then get on with our day.

10:05: Recess! I end up throwing on some lipstick. Then I go into the bathroom and take a picture of it.
I am very happy to discover that there is a Pumpkin Spice coffee creamer in the fridge that someone brought in to the staff room. Yum!
I had an apple and pretzels for my snack.

10:20-11:55: Back to work.
11:55-12:25: Lunch. Sausage roll, yogourt and a granola bar for lunch. Yum!

12:25-2:55: Back to work/finish work.

3:15-6:15: A quick trip to the library, then to Starbucks.
I have their Dark Mocha (which was supposed to be a Frap, but I asked for it hot. I also have my after school snack, and read magazines. Yum!

A friends asks if I want to go for coffee, and I say to come on over now, as I am here. We visit for an hour, and then we both head home. I think I go to the library after Starbucks.
 6:30: I do dishes.
I make my lunch for the next day.
Anker has made pizza (well, from a box), and it is actually really good!

7:15-10:00: I eat supper, while watching TV. I watch some episodes of the Little Couple....
.......and Big Bang Theory. Yes, I spend a good chunk of time in our bedroom. We are weird.

I don't remember the exact play by play of my evening, but it usually goes something like I watched TV, played on FB, and on my phone, and then go to bed around 10.

All About My Weekends/Let's Be Friends Blog Hop

I am linking up with the Let's Be Friends Blog Hop this week!

I say the term "I" vs "we" as Anker and I spent two weekends in a row apart. Last wknd, I looked after H for the weekend, and last wknd (Canadian TG) Anker was really sick, so he didn't come out with me. He is feeling a bit better, but his cough seems to have returned.

So, last wknd....

Friday: Work, ran some errands, packed, probably did laundry, then went out to meet up with my girl's group and had supper to celebrate our friends birthday. We ate out at a local Greek restaurant, and it was SO GOOD!! As A and K were leaving the next morning, I stayed overnight Friday. We visited and watched THE BLIND SIDE, and went to bed.

Saturday:

Slept until 8 (too early, but better than 6:30), saw A and K off, had breakfast, then H and I made a list of things that we wanted to. We watched some TV (I think?), and then headed over to PDK Cafe for donuts and coffee/hot chocolate. YUMMO!!! We went to our house for a a half hour or so, as I had to get a few things, and H wanted to see Kitty. Anker and him had QUITE the conversation! It was all rather cute! Went to the library, and to Sticky's Candy. B/C clearly, the kid didn't have enough sugar! We did have two stores, then one closed a couple of years ago, then we only had one, but it was large...with lots of candy. That closed this summer, and a smaller one has opened up. It only has packaged candy, which is probably for the best...but I still miss the larger selection (not that I went in much). We went to Bath and Body Works, where I still had some money to spend on a gift card that I got. I got some more hand sanitizers, and H wanted some, too, so I gave him two :) He thought it was a hoot. He LOVED being in the store, and was SO GOOD! I thought that he would have been bored, but he loved smelling everything (short of him picking out the furthest one back)!! It was all rather comical. We came home and watched a movie, and had pizza and soup, and then he went to bed, and I ended up settling upstairs and watched MADE OF HONOR. I love that movie!

My donut. It was a coffee crunch. Yum! I had their PSL, and it wasn't that great, but the donut was fab!
The four remaining hand sanitizers after I gave two to H.

 Pizza and Soup.

Sunday:

H actually let me sleep in until 8:00!!! We ended up going to the second service at church, so we had a nice leisurely breakfast. We went to church (one right across the street from them), where I know a lot of people, so that was kind of fun. We came home and had left over soup and I made some sandwiches, and then we went to Starbucks. We came home and waited for his parents to come home. After they came home, I came home and chatted with Anker and got ready for the week. I probably watched TV, etc.
                                                         Starbucks has Kettle Corn!!

So....this last weekend:

Friday was a PD Day at school, and we EA's didn't have to be there, so I loved having a 4 day wknd...so, my weekend actually started on Thursday. I went to a local thrift store to check out their clothes, and shoes. I think I went to the library. I got a few things from the grocery store, and came home. I don't remember what all I did, but I think I watched TV all evening.

Friday: I slept in, and then ended going to do some shopping. I bought jeans, and two pairs of bras. I know, very exciting. I went to Starbucks, and then to the library, then came home. It was nice to just have a day to chill. I ended up making the pretzel salad that I was to bring, and I am SO glad I did. It took me nearly two hours (though I was doing laundry and dishes and the same time). I started packing, and I went to bed around 12 or 1 am. I think I did some blogging.

I had a PSL with their PSL whipped cream! Yum!

Saturday: Anker was in NO shape to come along, so I went alone. I was sad, but I am also used to going out to the ranch on my own now, so it was kind of nice. I like being on my own...on my own schedule, etc. I made a few stops, and got to the ranch around 1. We sat down for dinner at 3:30. I won't post a ton of pics, but I will post most of them on my IG feed (some of them are already there). We went for our annual Thanksgiving Walk, and then ate pie and pumpkin squares when we got back. We played games and visited. Cool fact: A and K invited some friends of theirs from their church. I knew she was American, and after dinner, I asked her were in OK she was from..she said from around Tulsa..as a joke, I asked her if she knows Ree Drummond..and she does! She doesn't know her well, but her grandpa and Ladd's family (used to?) farm together. Pretty cool, huh!! I went back to the cabin where I was staying, and went to bed around 11:30.

Pictures from Saturday:

Fall foilage. This never gets old.
                                                                 My sister V, and I.
                                                               Pie and tea. Yum!!!

Sunday: I slept in, read mags, and drank tea, then headed to the house to get to church. Came home after church, and started a fire in the wood stove, and read for an hour or so. I went back to the house, and we all lounged and lazed around. I visited with Dad and Adam, and then Mom, H, V and I all played Dominoes. It doesn't matter who won!! :) I played on my laptop, and then Mom and I read magazines together. I went back to the cabin around 8:30 or so. I read for a bit, and was in bed by 10:30.

The going from my aunt and uncle's house towards another part of the ranch...and to the cabin.
I figured that I had better get at least one picture of the sheep!

Monday: I was up around 8, and played on my phone for a bit. I got dressed, and then we all had a pancake and egg brunch at the house. FYI: I still can't fry a soft egg to save my life. Oh well. We had a wonderful visit, and then it was time to get ready to go home. V helped me pack, and then I left around 12. I grabbed a coffee at Tim Horton's on the way home, and got home around 2. I unpacked, talked with Anker, and ended up organizing my CD's. #geek. I had brought home some turkey, but we  kind of wanted a bit more, so I went and grabbed a few things and we had a little (and kind of sad) Thanksgiving Dinner while we watched the news. I talked with Aunty June, and I watched TV.

Five On Friday-Thanksgiving Edition

****Before I go any further, I want to address what happened in LV last week (and Marseille). This absolutely breaks my heart when I hear and see things like this happening. 4 Canadians were killed, and I am not sure on how many Canadians were shot, but one had a local connection, with one of the young men shot being the son of an news anchorman use used to work and live here in town. Things like this shouldn't happen, and short of Christ coming, I am not sure when this will stop. My heart breaks for the families that were hurt and killed.****

Ok, on to happier things!

Happy Friday!! It is Thanksgiving here in Canada (yes, we celebrate it), and I am headed to the ranch tomorrow (Saturday) for a day or so. Anker is really quite sick with a horrible cold, so he may or may not come with me. I am very sad that he might not be able to come, but on the other hand, going anywhere when you are sick just sucks, so he might as well stay here and not infect anyone. We will see if he will come tomorrow.

Here are things that I am thankful for this week:

1) 4 Day Weekend!!

We had a PRO D Day today (Friday), and we EA's didn't need to be there. So, a 4 day weekend it is!!! I slept in, shopped, drank coffee, read magazines, and did laundry. Fun times!

2) PSL with a Twist

Happy girl was I when I found out that they were handing out FREE PSL whipped cream along with their PSLs this weekend. And speaking of Pumpkin Spice, I picked up these cookies....
and I have to say that they are pretty good. Thankfully, Anker ate most of them, as he really liked them. I may have to pick up some more up. There are also Pumpkin Spice-flavoured cereals, which I think are a bit much, no?
3) Winning more Jewelry

I won more jewelry from my friend/co-worker who does CBA! I won a pair of earrings, and I LOVE them!!

4) A Short-Lived Cold

I started getting a cold on Monday night, and I am almost over it! I did stay home from work on Tuesday, but I was able to go to work on Wednesday and Thursday.

5) Thankful

I am SO thankful that I live in the BEST country in the WORLD! Yes, I said it! Canada is the BEST place to live (ok, except for maybe France, and Switzerland). I love on how we get 4 seasons (even ever so cold Winter!), which by the way, the colours have JUST started coming out a week or so ago..which is always so beautiful!... that we have religious freedom..the list goes on. I love my job, my family (and that we are SAFE!), my husband, my friends...I am just so thankful!!! I am thankful for Thanksgiving; family, food, faith, friends and fun! #thankful

5.1) New Jeans

I got a card for $40 off of an $80 purchase from Penningtons the other day, and with our/my not going to the ranch like we had originally planned on, it allowed me to get some much needed jeans (ok, maybe not MUCH needed, but I do need more jeans/pants to wear to school), and some other...shall we say, other items?..lol. My mom even gave me some $ to go towards it, saying that it was Anker's bday gift :) Haha! I can't remember the exact brand of the jean (they are a store brand), but they are really nice and comfy.

I love them!!! The pair that I have on are the pair that I bought (at least I think that's what I brought home!).

Bonus:

Good TV/new shows. I have started watching The Little Couple, and Counting On. This is Us was pretty good this last week (but was ONLY ok the week prior), and Big Bang was a bit disappointing this last Monday. I hope it picks up soon. Last weeks's Grey's was quite good, and I have still yet to watch this week's. I see that 2 Broke Girls was cancelled, as well as The Odd Couple. Sadness! Of course, Judge Judy is always good of a laugh. I was going to start watching Dr. Phil, but I have only watched a few episodes. I also was going to start watching Racheal Ray, but I have decided to stop recording it. I have almost stopped watching Dateline, but I will watch it once in awhile. There is a really good Law and Order coming up next Tuesday, about the Menendez Brothers, and I am going to watch that. AND I just found out there is a show called The Great Canadian Baking Show, which I will watch. I have also PVR'd the Great British Bake Off. There are countless cooking shows that I watch (but, like with most of many shows that I record, I will often just delete them), which I do enjoy. Of course, I will usually always have a bunch of movies that I will record from mostly W Net work.

I hope everyone has a wonderful (Thanksgiving) Weekend!

Oh...and just in case you think that we Canadians can't grow tomatoes (or that it's too late to still be getting them)..here is a picture from earlier this week. I am taking these to my parents (though I might take some of the smaller ones for my lunches), as we won't be able to use them up, and they are just attracting flies.

A Little Catch Up & A Small Rant(and a Surprise!)

Howdy! Well, as my aunt says, "I'm so far behind, I'm ahead", so I think I will take a page from her play book and just st...
