Sunday Social

1. 3 favorite songs right now

River Bank by Brad Paisley, How Great is our God by Chris Tomlin (I will ALWAYS love that song, Bartender by Lady A (not sure why, b/c I NEVER go to bars).

2. 3 favorite movies that remind you of summer

Here on Earth (not so much about summer as it does about small town living), any road trip movie (well, the ones that I like...can't think of any at the moment), and that's all I can thin of right now.

 3. 3 favorite articles of clothing you own

Yoga Pants, Yoga Pants, Yoga Pants. Oh wait, you mean three DIFFERENT ones? I have a maxi (?) dress that I got for my grad last year, and I love it, and I am not a huge dress person. Any of my Capri pants/shorts.

4. 3 items on your wish list

A new (er) car, a good bra, and a blue ray/dvd player combo

5. 3 books you would recommend to someone

The Help, The Atonement Child, and (almost) any book by Danielle Steel.

Next week’s questions
1. Gum or mints?
2. Tea or Coffee?
3. Fruits or Veggies?
4. TV or Movies?
5. Candles or Diffusers?

10 Things of Thankful

Yes, it has been awhile, but I wanted (and needed!) to link up with my TToT friends.

1. Anker finally got approved for disability,

Actually, this happened a month or so ago...but I am still thankful.

2. More shifts at work.

LOVE my job. Am happy that I am getting shifts.

3. Our Anniversary Weekend

Well, it's our Anni today. Seven years! We are doing exciting things like going for dinner. Cause we are wild and crazy like that.

4. Sister Time

Spent some time with Sister while/when she was in town. She is going Far, Far Away soon, and that makes me sad.

5. New TV Shows

I am really liking "The Audience". Better yet, it is a BC-based show. Also, "Who do you think You Are" is back. Love that show!

6. Nutella

I feel sad for people who don't know this exists. I bought white crusty bread and Nutella (the real stuff, not the fake stuff, thankyouverymuch), and had raspberry jam with it the other morning. Pure heaven, that is. I don't like Nutella ALL the time (like on waffles), but I do like on white crusty bread.

7. Sleep

That is all. I am thankful that I can sleep (for the most part) during the day while/when I am on night shift. Some people can't. One of the great things I do love about not having kids.

8. Last Minute Plans

As per a couple of posts back (i am too lazy to post a link), my friend phoned me and asked me to go out for Sushi. Yum! Still not sure if I am a fan yet, but I love the last minute plans I can make, again, because I don't have kids.

9. Repreave of/from the hot weather.

This past week it has cooled off/down significantly. It was muchly needed.

10. It's going to get hot again.

And now it's gonna get hot again! Camping anyone one (yes, even despite the fire bans).

Oh Hey Friday!

Linking up with Karli, and Amy for another FUN edition of Oh Hey, Friday!

1. Flash Flooding.

Wednesday, we had a HUGE downpour, that caused MAJOR flooding in our town. I didn't take any pictures, but if you go our local TV station's Facebook Page to see the damage. It took me over an hour (close to an hour and a half) to get to work, and it normally takes a half hour. True Story. Our apartment didn't get flooded, but our neighbours apartment did.

Ok, I DID take a few...
From our apartment. You can actually SEE the rain coming down.
This actually happens a fair amount (the rain blowing through like this), but it seemed like it was a bit more than usual.
 Yes, there is water here.
More rain.

Thankfully, I didn't have to drive to work while it was raining (it rained on and off all day), but I did have to drive on the way home in the rain (but it wasn't that bad).

I had to laugh when I saw this warning AFTER the storm at come and gone...

Not the time. It says 2:38, and the storm had already come and gone about 10 minutes when I saw this. I LOL'd a bit.

2. SUSHI

Last night, my friend called and asked if I wanted to go for sushi. I had never had it. Like EVER. I always said I didn't really like it, but I wanted to give it a try. It was actually pretty good! Oya is a restaurant that I had never been to, and it was such a great place. I am not sure if I consider myself a sushi fan, but I tried it, and it was good (I had the Cali rolls, which my sister says doesn't count!!). I also had the raw fish on top of rice. My friend had the all you can eat, and since I had never tried it before, I had the bento box. I loved the fact that there were different foods (albeit small, which is what I wanted) that you could try.
 Miso soup. I loved this.

My bento box full of goodies!

I had a great visit with her, and I really enjoyed our girl time. I needed that. A lot.

3. Date Days with Hubby

We went and watched "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" the other day, and we ran errands yesterday. We also went on a Starbucks Date.

4. Starbucks Drinks.

Speaking of Starbucks, I had two VERY yummy drinks this week.

I saw a really cool drink on a Starbucks Store's IG page. I wanted to give it a try. Sadly, they didn't make it the way I wanted the first time, but it was still good. They called it the Berry Cobbler. It was Vanilla Bean Frap, with hibiscus berries added.
What I really wanted was this one....
They called it a Triple Berry Cream Frappicino. It's a Strawberry and Cream Frap, with raspberry syrup and then the hibiscus berries. Yum!

5. Bath Bombs

I don't have any pictures of them, but I did get some. Honest. I had bought one from Lush when I went to Victoria last month, but I haven't used it yet. I had to go and buy some bath bombs for one of our clients, and when I saw and smelled them, I knew I HAD to get some for myself. I went to Nature's Face and Body, which is a healthy product store (makeup, bath products, etc) in town. I had never been to it before, so I was glad when I was able to have been given the task of going. I used one, and it smelled and felt SO good. It made my skin feel so soft. Anyway, I am now a reformed bath bomb girl!!

That's all for this week (I have more, but I don't want to bore you, and I have to get going). I actually have to work all (or most) of the weekend, so it really doesn't feel like a weekend to me. BUT it is our Anniversary on Sunday!!! Not sure what we are going to do yet; we may go to a drive through about 2 hours away, or we may just hang out in town. What we do, I am sure it will be a good day.

Sunday Social

1. What is the most difficult thing you have been through?

Two illnesses (not including when I was born), and what we are going through right now. Having a hubby that is sick is really tough.

2. What was your best birthday?

Probably the one when I was in Venice. I went Europe years ago, and I turned 21 in Venice. Best. Bday. Ever. Although this last birthday was pretty nice, being in Vancouver on my special day was wonderful.

3. What has been your favorite thing you’ve done in your own city?

Good question. A few months back, Anker and I went to the museum for the first time ever! I love where we live, but there isn't a lot to do here. If you don't golf or ski, or do any hiking, your options are pretty limited. We do go for movies a fair amount. I go to the library, and I like going downtown and wandering around sometimes.

4. What is your idea of the perfect date night?

Anker and I have gone to Starbucks, and grabbed a paper, and sat and visited. We also like going to movies. Or walks in the park. We are pretty low-key like that.

5. Have you ever been to a blogging conference? If so which one(s)? If not, do you want to?

No. Yes.

Linking up with Ashley for Sunday Social.

   Next week’s questions

These are all about 3s!

1. 3 favorite songs right now
2. 3 favorite movies that remind you of summer
3. 3 favorite articles of clothing you own
4. 3 items on your wish list
5. 3 books you would recommend to someone

Oh hey, Friday, and a Recap of LAST Week

Ugh, I am so behind! I have been busy with work, and family, and of course, a sick hubby. The girls that host Five on Friday are taking a break for the summer, and I found another Link up:) I was going to do it Friday, but I just didn't get to it, so I thought, I would do it today. I know, I am late, but hey, who cares, the link is still up, so why not!!

I thought I would do my recap (from what I can remember of it), in the form of the Friday link up.

I am linking up with Karli and Amy for Oh Hey Friday link ups!

1. Treat Receipts are back!

On Monday, I bought a few things from Starbucks, and they informed me that the TR's are back. I may or may not have gotten 4 drinks later in the day.

2. Beautiful Sunsets

I don't know what it is, but I am LOVING taking pictures of sunsets lately.  I took a few pics on my phone of a sunset from my aunt and uncle's balcony. Monday evening, my friend and I went to the beach to give her dog a run. After grabbing drinks at Starbucks, off to the beach we went. It was GORGEOUS. I had never been to that beach before, and it seriously felt like I were at the ocean. SO beautiful, and windy. It was warm, but not too bad (it had cooled off). We sat and visited, and I played in the sand. I also got some pictures. Here are some that I took.

If I didn't know where this was, I would have thought this was in Europe. I love this shot!
 Sunset!!!

                                                              Starbucks in the sun!!!

3. Heat Wave

We have had a tremendous heat wave last week. It hit 40.7C at our airport last Sunday.
It has cooled down a bit, but it is supposed to get warmer again.

4. Birthday Party

I worked Tuesday night, and I slept Wednesday.  On Wednesday evening, my friends from church met a local restaurant for we girls who had bdays this summer. I was told not to bring gifts, but apparently, not everyone else got the memo, so I got some lovely gifts;; McD's gift card, Starbucks GC, and jewellery.

You can't see it well, but I had a salad, and crab rolls. Yum.
Two of us shared dessert. Yum.

5. House Hunting.

Well, not for me, but I was asked my my brother and SIL to look at some places for them. They didn't take what I looked at, but at least it helped them make a decision. I relaxed all morning, and went HH, then went to Tim Horton's for a snack and coffee.

6. Virgin Caesars At Work.

One of our coworkers brought in ingredients for virgin Caesars while we are at work. I made mine a bit too spicy, but it was still good.

I think that pretty much sums up my week. I went out A LOT (McD's and Starbucks), spent time at the library, and worked.

Where Do I Go From Here?/Let's Be Friends Blog Hop

I was inspired (or maybe it just made me think more) from a post from my blogging friend Louise @ Talk Nerdy To Me (everyone say "Hi, Louise).  This post made me think or rather question about what (if any) more I can do on/for this blog.

When I first started blogging back in '07, it was JUST starting to take off (at least in my mind). I had and read a few blogs before, but thought they were pointless or useless unless you had kids. Well, that kind of changed after I got married. I blogged (albeit very little) about our life as a newly married couple. Then a few years back, I wanted to blog more about our life as a childless (NOT by choice) couple, so that people can have a little glimpse on what this kind of life is like; and the life isn't all perfect all the time. I even changed our blog name (which I may do again).

Now I feel that I have come to an impasse. My blog followers isn'/aren't growing, which is fine, but I wonder if anyone reads it. I feel that since we don't have kids, don't travel much, and don't have an exciting life, that blogging is a bit of a waste of time (and a boring blog at that).  I love doing the link ups, but they only serve a certain purpose. I don't do any giveaways, and I don't (really) do any reviews, although I have started posting links in/on my posts of the places I have gone, done and stayed. I haven't been featured on anything major (although other bloggers will link back to me if I have nominated them for an award), and I haven't gone to any bloggy conferences. My blog hasn't been featured/nominated for any MAJOR bloggy (such as the Vancouver Mom Blogger Awards), which is totally fine, but I don't feel like my blog is "out there, getting exposed" like I would like, although I do share with FB and (sometimes) Twitter. (which is I why started to blog about our childless life in the first place). And I find that my blog is boring (I just use the BlogSpot/Blogger fonts. There is/are still SO many things I don't know about blogging; how do I do a "button", or even post another bloggers "button" on my page? How do I watermark my photos on my blog? How do I (or should I) get sponsors? How do I go about changing my blog font/style?

I know it's MY blog, and I will blog if I want to, or leave it, but I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or helpful tips? I have considered moving to BlogHer or BlogLovin. Is that hard?

Anyway, those are just my thoughts. I would LOVE it if you had any (nice) ideas, so please leave a comment. And please follow me!!!

Sunday Social

Yah, I am a little late, but hey, I can still link up, and it's my blog, so I am going to do it now. Actually, I wasn't so sure I was going to do this week, but hey, what the heck..:)

1. Tell us about the family you grew up in, parents, siblings, grandparents.
I am the oldest of 7, but I sometimes feel like there are two families, as there are three older ones, and 4 younger ones. The youngest is 16, so there are 21 years btwn us:) Two girls and 5 boys. We all get along together (most of the time!!), and we always have a great time when we're together (again, most of the time!). I was/am pretty close to my grandparents, but my dad's parents are dead, so we don't speak to them anymore.

2. Tell us about your husband, fiancé, boyfriend, significant other.
Hubby 50-something years old (I like them older, apparently), and going through some health issues, as I have explained before somewhere, in this blog (yes I could hyper-link it, but I don't wanna). But he loves me for me, and is SO good about my Starbucks addiction habit. He really doesn't care if I am gone all day (well, he does, but it doesn't bother him), and really doesn't get upset about the money I spent. He doesn't care that I am fat, and that our house is messy (though I do try to clean it once in awhile).

3. Tell us about your children. If you don’t have children, talk about your fur children.
No kids, and no pets, But I do have two adorable nieces and one nephew, and one niece/nephew on that way! Plus lots of babies of my friends. I am "Aunty April" to a lot of kids (even if they don't know it).  Oh, and did I mention that H is moving back? And he is so nice to bring his parents back with him!!

4. Tell us about your best friends. How long have you known them? How did you meet?
My best friends that I had growing up dumped me, but thankfully, you make new friends, and I have made some friends here. Most of the ones I hang out with are either my co-workers, or friends from the church (remember when I said I didn't have a lot of friends last week? Well, I do). As far as BEST friends? Probably my family members; aunts, sisters/in law, cousins, mom (again, most of the time!), and my other friend from Calgary who I have re-connected with.

5. Tell us about any other special people in your life.
Like I said, I am pretty close to my family, especially my aunts. I have two aunts who are my second and third moms (one even acts like she is my mom..lol). They helped raise we kids. They were single for most of our childhood; with one getting married in 2003, and one getting married in 2012. I have also made a lot of Facebook/blogging friends in the last 7 years, who I consider great friends as well.

Heartbreak and Anger

Today I am filled with heartbreak and anger over a case in Calgary, AB over a little boy and his grandparents. If you are unaware of the story, just type in "Missing Boy in Calgary", you should get hundreds of of hits.

Today, they have charged a man with murder of the three. I am so outraged right now. Maybe it because it is in a town where I used to live in. Or maybe it is because it is involving a child. Or maybe it is because it is such a weird case. Very few stories affect me this way.  Trust me. I am made of stone. Ask my family.

For those who are unfamiliar to/of the story, Nathan who is 5 went to his grandparents for a sleepover, and when his parents came to pick him up, all three weren't there. They have since re-arrested the man, and have considered the case a homicide, even though they haven't found the bodies.

I hate stories like this. They really pull at the heartstrings. Another stories that had (still has) me all riled up, was a story about a young man who was abducted and raped for days. The guy got two years. True story.  Anyway, that was another story that really got me upset.

But getting back to this story. They have for over two weeks. All of Canada has been in an uproar about this story. We are all lifting them up in our thoughts and prayers. This is sad, and it makes me angry.

Currently (Another Link up)

I am pretty sure that I have done this link up before, but I don't remember having the host blog as one of my (many!) blogs that I follow. Anyhow...I just love link ups :)

Linking up with Jenna for this weeks Currently!

Thinking about: A sad case in Calgary, AB about a little boy and his grandparents who went missing two weeks ago, and they are now considered dead by Calgary City Police/Alberta RCMP. So sad.

Listening To: Not really listening to much right now. I can hear the news, and people outside/cars, etc. As far as music goes, I am loving Brad Paisley's River Bank, and whatever is on the radio.

Watching: Whatever is on TV. I am loving the Amazing Race Canada, The Young and the Restless, and I got Call the Midwife Season 2 from the library today. Yay!

Thankful for: Cool places to escape the heat. I am also thankful for my job. I love it!

Reading: Blogs, and Danielle Steel's new-ish book; Winners. Love it. And loads and loads of magazines.

In a Funk

Happy Sunday!!! (now Monday, as I stared on this yesterday)

I write this in the midst of a HEAT wave! That's right, everyone...it is 37C! Even for here, it's hot! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I did...I worked yesterday, and had a great shift. I unwound at McD's and came home and went right to bed,(written today) not even doing my FB games.

****DISCLAIMER****

I am not an idiot; I know that there are people that are worse off than me (us), and that are in worse off situations, and I realize that what I am experience is/are first world problems. This is my life right now, and I am venting, but by no means am I saying that my life is worse off than others'.

One of the reasons that I blog (other than to talk about our life as a childless couple, and for people to see that side of life) is to be real. I hate blogs that are all about fluff and nonsense. I will ALWAYS be respectful of my family, which includes my hubby, even though we may be struggling, or whatever at that moment. But I also want and NEED to be real. Life isn't about going on trips, getting free swag, and having lovely kids. Life is, well, LIFE!!! It is HARD! And I wanted to show that. Of course, like I said, I will always be respectful of family, and I will try not to be SUPER negative, but I will be real. That's just how I roll.

Back to my regularly scheduled rant :)

So YESTERDAY (Sunday), I was having a bit of an off day. It started with Anker not wanting to go to church. Fine. I went alone. There was a baby dedication, which was fine (usually I find them sad), b/c it was friend in the church's baby, and I went to her shower a few months back. I went to Starbucks to have a snack, and to read some of my new book. I am into reading books again after a few months of not reading them. I go in phases. Anyway, moving on. I went to a friends place, where her daughter (whom I am also friends with) invited me, which was great. We had a nice chat in the sun while her 6 yr old sun played in the pool. Then it got interesting. He was being a brat. He was actually rude. I can usually take kids' brattiness, but I was already in a mood, so when he lipped off, I actually almost cried. Is it just me, or are 6 yr olds brattier than they were when I was a kid? Anyway, I took my leave soon after. Oh, and did I mention that he was rude TO ME?

Anyway, after that, I decided to go to the beach. I asked/texted EVERYONE who lived here on my list/Fb friends list. Ok, not everyone, but a lot. NO ONE took me up on it. I would say that my life is pretty sad when NO ONE takes you up to go to the beach. I was feeling bummed. Like no one cares. I KNOW that's not true, but I feel that way sometimes. I do have friends here, mainly my church friends, whom I do love, but they all have busy lives, and it's summer, and they are away, etc. And to be honest, I love them, and we have great times together, but I am not super close to them (except for one, but she was away). They are older, which is fine (since I usually get along better with older people, anyway, although I have some fairly good friends who are younger, too). But sometimes, it is nice to connect with someone who is around your age. Right now my closest friends are the people I work with (coworkers). I have always had a problem making/having friends, though. Ever since I was young. My former BFF came into town (my hometown), and never even bothered to call to see if we could hook up. I am living in the same town as another childhood (and her sister, and we were friends, too), and we NEVER call, and never meet up. I actually forget that she is here sometimes.  But another friend of mine is moving back here, and she is very close, so I am VERY happy about that!!!

So, yah, back to yesterday, I wasn't feeling the love. I did finally call one of my closest friends who lives in Alberta  and who is going through similar things as me, and talked for awhile. I was explaining to her on how I was feeling and she got it. I am SO happy that she did. It made me feel a bit better.

I was also a bit sad that Anker didn't want to do anything with me. Sometimes, he doesn't want to go anywhere or do anything, which is fine, but I get tired of it. As my SIL said yesterday, "are you a married-single woman too?" which summed it up perfectly.  I know Anker has bad/sick days. That I can live with (which, to be fair, he said yesterday he wasn't feeling well), but when he doesn't want to do things on his "good" days, that is when I get upset. I was hoping that we could go to BP last night for supper, as we had a $25 GC, but he didn't even want to do that. I did get a him a slurpee, and grabbed some burgers from Wendys (Cause, seriously, who wants to cook ANYTHING when it's over 40C outside?).

So, btwn feeling like I had no friends, and being a bit frustrated with hubby, and doing things alone, yesterday was not the greatest of days. I DID make the best of it, though. I went to the park, where I am pretty sure that I was the only normal/sane person there, and I grabbed a dip in the river, which was great. Relaxed in the evening, and then my aunt called me to see if I wanted to come over. We had a great evening, with tea and DQ Buster Bars for a late night snack. I came home around 11:30 and I ended up talking to my friend for nearly an hour. Hubby was till doing his project on the computer. So, in the end, it was actually not a bad day, but I was/am in a bit of a funk about the friend thing....I guess I just do what I can do, and it is what it is :)

Does anyone else have days like that?? Where you feel that you don't have any good friends? Or ANY type of friends for that matter.

Here are some pictures from yesterday...

The sunset from my aunts place (they are house sitting). Love it!!

Summer Lovin Tag

Britt posted this on her blog, and I thought it would be fun to do this, too.

Summer Lovin' Tag-Questions.

QUESTIONS

1. Summer lipstick you're loving?
I am not up on the make up (or any) trends, and I haven't bought any new lipsticks in awhile. I used to buy Avon stuff when I was "doing" Avon, but since I have been out of it for while, I haven't bought ANY from there or anywhere for awhile. But I do love the lipsticks I do have. I have light pink, nude shades. Yah, I am boring.

2. Summer nail polish you're loving?
Same as above...perhaps I should go and buy some some new stuff? I DID do my nails in a nude shade awhile back. Can't remember the name.

3. Bathing suit you're loving this summer?
The same one I have had since 2007. Really boring one piece, but I do like it.

4. Favourite summer Frappuccino from Starbucks?
When I want to be healthy, I have the Mocha Light Frap. When I don't, I love the Vanilla Bean.

5. Favourite fake tan?
I haven't tried them. Ever.

6. Favourite summer song?
"Down By the River Bank" by Brad Paisley

7. Favourite summer accessory?
My favourite accessory (not that I wear a lot) is a silver necklace from Avon.

8. Favourite summer fragrance/perfume? J
My neighbour and friend gave me Bath and Body Works' Fresh Lavender Honey eu do toilette. Love it.

9. Summer book you're loving?
I just have started on "Winners" by Danielle Steel.

10. What are you most excited to do this summer?
Camping and hanging out with hubby and my family. My friend from Calgary and are talking about doing a girls' wknd.

1. What is your favorite genre of music?
I like all kinds of music, but country us definitely my favorite! I grew up listening to people like Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, and George Strait, and they are still some of my favorites! This answer was Ashley's but it is very similar to mine, so I thought I would keep it as my own. I also love Christian/Worship music, and light rock.
2. What is your favorite genre of movies?
I like girly romantic comedies! (Also Ashley's answer), but I also love me some suspence/drama, and even some "guy" movies. Sometimes. Oh, and also like Disney/Family Animated movies. Oh, you asked for favourite genre? Dramedy/Rom-Coms
3. Do you watch reality TV? If so what was the first show you remember watching?
Yes, I think my first was Survivor, but I haven't watched it in YEARS. I love Amazing Race/Canada
4. Who is an actress you’d want to be BFF’s with?
There are so many...Sandra Bullock seems like such an awesome lady, and I would love to baby sit lil Louis. I know she isn't an actress, but Duchess Catherine would be awesome to hang with for a day. And again, I would LOVE to baby sit George! Sandra Oh, and Ellen Pompeo would awesome, too. Also, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting.
5. Who is an actor you’d be happy to be stuck on an island with?
Hugh Jackman. Duh! George Clooney would be pretty sweet, too.

SUYL-Canada Day (July 1st) Traditions

I am linking up with Kelly for this (almost LAST) weeks, SUYL- 4th of July Traditions. Well, since I live in Canada, I asked her if I could share what we do for CDay, and she sweetly said yes! Because I worked all last wknd, and I am trying to do my blog posts in order, I am just now getting to this post, well, now.

Growing up, we really didn't do much for CDay.Being on a farm, and being far away from a large city, we didn't really do a whole lot. In the last few years, however, my parents have gotten more patriotic (and so has the country), so they usually do something (even if it is just flying some flags at the ranch), in recent years. As we kids have gotten older (and married), we have planned BBQ's wiener roasts, picnics, etc. Since Anker and I have been married, we usually have done something. If we are in town, we will either go down to the park and wander around, as there is/are always things going on down there, followed by (or) watching the fireworks. The last few years, we have either been camping or at the ranch.  You can read what we have done in/for previous CDay's here, here, here, here, here, and here. And this years post you can find here.

One thing that Anker and I have done nearly EVERY year that we have been together/married is get Canada Day T-shirts from SuperStore. We have skipped two years, including last year, as we didn't really have the money, and when I did go and try to find them, they were no where to be found. Another was probably we didn't get them was probably due to money.

I will try to post them in the ORDER that we bought them (if I can remember), not necessarily the year the pics were taken.
2007 (yes, I had one, too, but I wasn't wearing it in this picture).
                                                                          2008

                                                                            2010
                                                                          2011
                                                                 2012 (or 2009, not sure)
2014 (mine is to the right)

It looks like (by process of elimination) that we didn't buy tshirts for 2009 and 2013, which does seem right. Unless it was 2012 or 2013, which also kind of sounds right. I am wishing that I had written the year on the back of the tshirts. Sadly, I only have TWO left now,  due to stains, rips, and them being too small :( I had kept a few for PJ tops, but I was looking for them the other day, and I couldn't find any. Oh well.

Here are Anker's shirts. I don't remember which/what year these were...but probably 2008/09, or 08/12.

Another tradition I/we have is to watch the fireworks. Sadly, however, this was the first year I/we hadn't done that, b/c of me being VERY tired (and not being able to see them from our balcony.

I also try to wear red and white a few days prior (or over the wknd). I DO have a lot of red tshirts. Sadly, I don't have a lot white, but I do have white/cream coloured sandals and underwear, and I did wear my Canadian socks last wknd!

I also buy something patriotic it eat. This year, it involved Red Velvet cupcakes which I ate two days later.  I also bought (and have the last couple of years) Maple cookies (which we can get year round anyway).

                                                       Not the greatest picture..
I also have a pair of Canada Day socks, but I can't seem to find the picture of them at the moment. They are cute, though.

So, those are some of my/our traditions that we do every July 1st! (I will say that I am pretty sure that this is the first CDay that I have worked, at least in the last few years).

A Little Catch Up & A Small Rant(and a Surprise!)
